Spray Foam Removal
A few years ago, spray foam insulation was the ‘next best thing’, offering an extensive list of comfortability & financial benefits.
Whilst open-cell spray foam can be a fantastic product, if not installed in line with strict guidance, it can cause significant, long-lasting damage to your property. Spray foam must be installed over a ‘breathable membrane’, or have ‘vent card’ spacers installed, to allow your roof to breathe. If not, the product can have a whole host of damaging side effects.
Risks
-
Whether selling, re-financing, or buying a property with spray foam, uncompliant installations will result in Mortgage lenders not accepting your application.
This is due to the long term damage uncompliant spray foam can have to your roof.
-
Incorrectly installed spray foam insulation doesn’t allow your roof to breathe, trapping damp & condensation behind the product. The longer this is left, the more at risk your rafters become to moisture, causing your timbers to rot.
-
If spray foam insulation is applied incorrectly, it fails to allow proper ventilation, resulting in trapped moisture within your roof. This increases the risk of mould growth, which not only deteriorates materials but also poses health concerns for occupants.
Remove it
Whether its been installed 6 months, or 6 years, we can still specially remove the spray foam, and bring your home back to its original condition.
-
Our reps or surveyors will attend your property, conducting an intrusive survey of your loft’s timbers, spray foam and membrane. We’ll take readings and photos, and explain our findings to you in detail.
-
If your insulation has been installed incorrectly, and is uncompliant, we will then provide you with a quote to remove it. We recognise the shock & worry this process can cause, and therefore offer industry leading pricing & lead-times, to help lessen the blow. EWL will get your loft back to its original condition within 5 days of the survey.
-
Our installers will carefully remove the uncompliant spray foam insulation, taking time & care to ensure your membrane or timbers are not damaged during this process.
The spray foam will be bagged and removed from site, being specially removed to ensure no harm to the environment.
-
We, if required, will repair or replace cut or damaged roof membrane, and treat your timber rafters with a gel. This will seal your roof and give it the best chance of returning to its original moisture levels.
-
You got spray foam to have a properly insulated home. Removing it gets rid of the issues, but leaves your property colder, at risk to damp, with higher energy bills and unprotected.
We also offer expert installation of SuperFOIL or Fibreglass insulation, and can install on the same day as removal, leaving your loft in an even better state than it was originally.
